I am very interested in psychology. In fact, I am a PhD student studying psychology!!! Psychology is a massive field, with many areas and subfields within it. I am a cognitive scientist and my main research area is speech production. This means that I'm interested in the processes in the brain that allow us to communicate our thoughts! These days, I'm mainly focused on acoustic phonetics and transfer of acoustic properties from perception to production. In the past, I have also worked with phonotactics and structural priming.
When I tell people that I study psychology, they typically assume that I study clinical psychology, which is the area that I feel is most associated with the word "psychology". Unfortunately, I do not! I am not an expert on clinical areas and have no formal traning, but I am very interested in aphasia, ADHD, and autism.
